Job Technical Skills – Responsible for operating and monitoring of electric power plant generation equipment including wind turbines, thermal plant equipment and their auxiliaries at the machine level. Assists with plant preventive and corrective maintenance as well as on unit outages. Performs testing and makes operational adjustments to maintain plant water chemistry based on established guidelines and procedures. Required to work a variety of rotating schedules according to business needs. Performs emergency and overtime work on short notice and at odd hours. When on-call, response time is expected to be 30 minutes or less, in fit for duty condition. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
Assists in the sequenced startup, shutdowns and loading of assigned power and thermal plant equipment daily to meet LES dispatch needs.
Monitors and inspects visually, audibly and via local instrumentation, and adjusts all primary and auxiliary systems for assigned facilities by making routine rounds of all plant systems.
Maintains daily logs of key operational parameters, maintenance, and safety activities, including test results, instrument readings, and details of equipment malfunctions and maintenance work conducted to correct deficiencies.
Trains assigned personnel in power plant work and ensures safety procedures and practices are followed.
Reports operational and mechanical problems and assists in the resolution of the problems.
Completes routine water system tests and chemical adjustments based on established procedures.
Verifies the proper operation of cooling, heating and well field loops including monitoring the cooling tower operation and associated water chemistry testing and adjustments.
Performs corrective and preventative maintenance duties as assigned, and assists with testing and troubleshooting plant equipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree in Plant Operations or related field, and
At least seven years of relevant maintenance/operations experience, or
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
